Well when you look at that photo maybe what you see is 8 beautiful ladies in gorgeous dresses but when i look at that photo i see one lady with a dream and 7 ladies who helped bring it to life. The fashion and lifestyle fun day marked the beginning of an empire that is going to take nairobi by storm. The crowd's reaction when our glam queens hit the run way was electrifying. Who would expect to see plus size, medium size and short models hit the run way and strut it the way they did. This line can only be described by 4 words "elegance, class, glamour and style". The designs are both descent and appealing. They bring attention to the right places in the right way and essentially that is what every woman needs. we had a mission to show ladies out there that u can send out a clear message about yourself without having to say a word and i believe we achieved that. Best thing about this line is that it is very affordable. better things are coming.

So this being our first fashion show we are anxious to the bones. We confirmed attendance quite late meaning our preparation process was done in a hurry. None the less, we have learnt a lot.
LESSON 1: ALWAYS BE PREPARED Just because you do not have an upcoming show does not mean you shouldn't have all the details ready. One of my favorite quotes is "success is when opportunity meets preparation" . Have your business cards ready, have a full line sketched and detailed, have a production system set up, have models or a modeling agency on stand by and always be mentally ready for anything. LESSON 2: DONT WORK ALONE Its always a good feeling not to have to worry about something. Get someone you can work with and get to work. LESSON 3: KNOW WHEN TO SAY NO When we were coming up with the budget for this show we wanted it all, the big banners, the expensive cards, the expensive fabric e.t.c But at some point we had to say no. always work within your capacity. It is good to be risky and stretch your boundaries but always know your limits. sometimes too much is just enough to break you down or tear you apart. Prioritizing is key. |
